Looking for the "Last" version of Symantec's XTGOLD. Any help is appreciated. Also would like the manual. I lent mine to a "Friend" he moved out of state and so did my manual.

Thanks anybody or everybody

XTGold (XTree Gold) is a DOS file manager. It is a pretty powerful utility and made DOS file management much easier.

The last version I know of was a Windows 95 version, just before they dropped it. Unhappily I didn't upgrade before they killed the project.

So are you looking for the old dos version? (last one was v3.0 I believe) or the Windows? (version 2.0? maybe).

I found XTree Gold 4 on this website:
http://www.doslife.0catch.com/stuff.htm

(I didn't try it out the program, but I'm fairly certain that it's a DOS version.)

The web page doesn't work no more. It should be back up next month.

If you are running in Windows 95 or older you can use Ztree which is a 32-bit console (DOS box) clone of XTree Gold. Try www.cmdtools.com

Do you have a website for this program? What does it do?
before you make a request, please read the pinned topic titled "How to request an App."

Volkov Commander (http://www.egner-online.de/vc/en/commander.shtml) Volkov Commander (VC) is a great clone of the well-known Norton Commander by Symantec. When working in DOS, the Volkov Commander is the ideal manager for your files and directories. It can be used in a DOS box as well as in a Windows95/98 session. It also runs under Windows NT or OS/2. Programmed completely in assembler, it is very fast and doesn't take up much memory. Furthermore it can be customized in several ways.
ZTreeWin and ZTreeBold are native 32bit text-mode file/directory managers for Windows (95/98/ME/NT/2K/XP) and OS/2 respectively. They are modelled closely on the powerful text-mode file-manager XTree Gold?, but enhanced to take advantage of todays popular[/b]

FileMaster is a file manager modeled very closely to XTreeGold. It provides exactly the same screen, user interface and hotkeys as the former. Furthermore some additional commands are supplied, for example extended archiving capabilities (prepared for dealing with new PKZip as well as RAR versions).

ZTreeWin 1.49.1 is a text-mode file/directory manager for Windows 32bit operating systems. It has been developed as a native Win32 alternative to the DOS product XTreeGold ?, now that its makers have abandoned further development. Whilst you are surely well aware of the virtues of XTreeGold, you know the disadvantages of it being a 16-bit DOS program.

There is even an option for former XTree Gold users to use the familiar XTree Gold keystrokes in the File Manager.

Calypso 1.01 Advanced file manager for Windows 9x/NT. If you liked XTreeGold you will love Calypso. It has many features including support for huge hard disk partitions of over 2 Gb in size (NTFS and FAT32), ZIP and UNZIP support built-in (WinZip like)...
