Hey my kid saw a chessgame on Cable the other day and can't seem to get enough of the game. Problem is I don't have the time to play all day long. I'm tired installing freeware only to find out its goddam shareware in the end.

any suggestions would be welcome

Pawn Chess (http://www.pawnchess.com) is good enough for me.

The largest collection of "abandonware" on the Internet is at removed
There are lots of older chess games like Sargon, ChessMaster, etc.

Abandonware is not legal software, many titles on abandonware sites are retail apps, the owners still retain the copyrights and offering it for download is illegal.
Please keep you links related to Shareware or Freeware apps.
