While it is nice to know what the newest version is, I'm amazed at the number of people who take delight in checking the Home Page for a newer version then is listed on the main page for each program. With 49 programs there (not counting Kazaa and Kazaa-lite) the owners (Ablix and Igor) have better things to do then haunt 49 sites just to keep the newest version updated. If you require an older version then fill out a request following the guidelines in: How To Request an App (http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=1585) and it can be searched for.

Although knowing the latest release keeps the pages updated with correct information, the real purpose of this site is, just exactly as the name implies, hosting the old versions.
Knowing what is the most current release is not what the users of this site eagerly flock to.

If someone wants to keep an eyeball on all the programs releases, thats fine. It does not hurt too much when a notice of a change in a release is noted. But again, the purpose of this site is hosting an old version. 'Old,' for most people is a few points older. Not a change in a release that was just to fix a mispelt word in the documentation. Hence a new release of a minor point.

Time is best spent on this forum answering requests, questions and helping others out.
As much as posting each and every change on this board might serve a useful purpose, the same guidelines should be followed, such as posting in already started threads.

Overall, as much as most users will find it annoying to see a new thread started pointing out a new release was posted, it does help keep the sites information from being too far outdated.

If you have the desire to monitor all the apps for slight changes and wish to contribute this info, please try to post in existing threads, to help cut down on any unnecessary clutter.
