I have some .avi files that I need to burn as video files. I am using Nero and it will not let me burn them, as they are not the correct format. How do I change them in order for them to burn as a video file on a DVD? Thanks.

Try searching the forum for previous avi converter requests. There has been many links to apps posted in the past which may fill your needs.
To get you started, here is a link, Avi to DVD (http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=1419&hl=cucusoft)

Is there anything out there that I can download for free or a program I can go buy from a local store or do I have to get it from the internet? I don't mind paying, but I'd rather make sure first. Has anyone had any experience with these programs before and how did you like it? Did they perform well and did the dvd's play well after they had been burned? Thanks

Just do a search on google for "freeware convert AVI to VCD", you will get alot of results. I do not know what your exactly wanting, there are too many results for me to filter.
You might be able to buy the Roxio Easy Media Creator in stores, I do not know for certain.
To help you out alittle, check this link for alot of choices which you can then sort through. http://www.brothersoft.com/Multimedia_Grap...rter_20561.html (http://www.brothersoft.com/Multimedia_Graphics_Video_Conversion_Fx_Video_Conv erter_20561.html)
