Since WMP was just mentioend on the site here (http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?act=ST&f=2&t=2317) you might wish to read this as well.
You do not make mention of what media your trying to access with WMP.
Are you trying to watch rm, mov, qt, avi (raw or DivX), wmv video files??

No problem with avi's and them things, i got the right codecs.
i just couldn't play any videos using my web-broswer (IE), mpg any video files. It says i have to download WMP and i did, went through all the installing and it stopped at 100% and not making any progress at all

ok, empty your cache of temporary internet files, install and run it again, once it is completed, make sure you reboot.
If the file is downloaded as a self extracting file, close IE, do not try to install it with IE runing, or any other versions of WMP running.
