I downloaded quicktime 5.0.5. three times and it will not unzip successfully.

"Zip damaged:file :\oldver\QuickTimeCDInstaller\QuickTimeInstallCach e.qdat: Bad CRC 45c81404(should be d3d27898). Possible cause: file transfer error."

I just downloaded the Quicktime 5.0.5 from the link you provided. The WinZip self extractor worked fine on the first try. Are you running any background programs that might cause problems during download? IE a download accelator. I used a DLA to try and speed up a rar file. Corrupted file. Uninstalled the DLA and got the rar file first try. While some people swear by DLAs I just swear at them.

Try emptying out your Tmp and TEMP and IE temp folders, download again.
