Yahoo messenger 5.0

I just downloaded an older version of Yahoo 5.0 and it will not open for me. I have unintalled the previous version but the new old one will not work. Hints?

will not open ? what will not open, the file you downloaded or the program after you have installed it ? or do you mean it will not connect ? many of the chat apps as stated in past postings are blocked when a newer version is released forcing you to upgrade.some past postings suggest ways this can possibly be avoided try searching and reading past postings.

Yeah, it won't connect. I assume that Yahoo no longer supports the 5 version so I am running the 6 instead. Still wish I could get that 5 back. Thanks though.

your welcome,i have just myself had to upgrade as mine no longer worked ,same with msn just had t upgrade to 7 as they pulled the plug on 6.
