Try simtel.net which has many free word processors that may suit your needs.

First make sure that Winword 2.0 is on that site.

If you search the Microsoft Site you will find Microsoft Word for DOS 5.5 which they are giving away free of charge. I have it installed on an old lap top and it works fine.

Maybe it should be linked here on Old Version.com!

Why don't you just use Wordpad?

If he wants an old version of winword then I presume he is using DOS or a GUI like win 3.1. Wordpad did not exist in this version. There was a forerunner called Write but it was very basic. Mind you if you search the windows 3.1 sites like Lightspeed's you will find a spell checker for Write which gives in a bit more functionality. Anyway why use any of them when Word for DOS 5.5 is available with many more functions?

I am sure Mosky has long since moved on from this request, as it was almost a year ago when this was requested. I only filled in the post with alternatives for other seekers who might find this thread and be interested in smaller Text Editors. If Mosky were running DOS, then a good text editor would be the DOS EDIT app.
I listed another that is a Word Processors.
When i build old machines, i use the Os's built in editor. which can be Ms-Dos's edit or even PC-DOS's edit. But i prefer vi, as it is the fastest to use and very powerful; yet difficult to learn for new users, and works well across a SSH session.

You are a star. I was beginning to pull my hair out looking for winword. The alternatives look just as good.
Thanks.
