Hey y'all!
I was just looking to see if anyone knows of some real good pro audio recording programs. For mixing and recording music. Thanks!:D

audacity (http://audacity.sf.net) is pretty good, more for audio editing than recording and mixing though...
it used to get very slow when i was dealing with more and more audio, although the latest beta seems to be alot faster...

you may want to try out kristal audio engine (http://kreatives.org/kristal) - it's reasonably basic, (eg no automation) but it's pretty nice... and free...

ardour (http://ardour.org) is open source, and aimed at the pro daw market, but unless you're using linux or osx...

there's also that version of pro tools free around somewhere...

google "home recording" there are some good sites around, with good info...

hope that helps.
