It is in my opinion regrettable that the development teams keep adding layer upon layer of unnecessary capability to their software, most probably at the behest of management who are barely involved in the project and more concerned with the business aspects.
Anyway, my question is, how can I get the very first release 1.0 to work on my fancypants windows xp blah blah blah computer?
I would very much like to use and enjoy a version of the instant messenger that was just what i needed, no more, no less. google talk has this now, but no users. my friends all use the AOL, so I must concede.
Should anyone who has been able to get version 1 working on his computer mind assisting another minimalist in need, that assistance would certainly be welcomed.
