I currently have 2 copies of the AOL 7.0 CD. As I use AOL 5.0, I'd be more than happy to send a copy to anyone that wants one (as I only have 2 copies, only 2 people can request a copy).

If you haven't found one yet, send me an e-mail and I'll have it in the post asap.

Please, before you post a request, look through the past postings, to see if someone else has posted the same request. just about 10 messages under yours there is the same exact request, with an answer.
The reason you should search before posting, is that there might be a question & answer for the same exact thing you seek - in this case there is, and it would save you time, since you do not have to wait for someone to reply.
you can find a reply here,

Im guessing you did not scroll through the past message to find your answer. If ya had, you would have seen this previous post http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?a...t=ST&f=3&t=1189 (http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=1189)
that answers your question.

Hello,

aol 7.0 is riddled with bugs and may be too bulky for your system

I recommend 4.0 as it is a much smaller program and less of a resource hog than the newer, bloated versions.

As long as you dont need all of the "features" of the later versions, 4.0 is great for basic aol interface. Also you only get 5 screen names with 4.0.

Once installed, 4.0 will update itself after each logoff- about the first 8 or 10 times- just let it complete each time. The only one that you may not want is the one that installs an old version of realplayer. If you have a later version of realplayer-it will not install the old one. If you do not have or want realplayer and do not want the one that aol installs, just use add/remove programs to delete it if it installs.

I was forced to reinstall win xp. So i had to reinstall aol but i dindt have setup so i downloaded it from aol.com. This version puts all this crap on your system and is using up my resources for dumb crap. I have my own security set up with out needing their, most likely buggy, security.

ANYWAYS - I cant find any old aol disk of like 7 or 8.0. Does anyone have the setup file on their computer that they could send to me via AIM or maybe bit torrent? Maybe one of you has one of those free AOL install CDs lying around, that you can copy and mail to me. It would only cost you a .33 cent stamp :D

-Side Note. I hardly ever used aol and when i did i never let it upgrade itself. So called "aol security" features will probably invite more crap on my cpu.

If you want to order the CD Version of AOL 8, I think the only thing you or your client can do, is to sign on to AOL and go to "Live Help" put that into your Keyword Box and then you have to ask one of the Techs to order it for you, I tried to find a web page where you can order it, but they told me the only way to to ask for it or you could also call, but I have found the on line "Live Help" at least a little more responsive.

LRI41: I apologize. Please resend that email if possible. We have undergone many server changes as it's not easy to run a web site that uses as much bandwidth as this one does. Sometimes emails get lost or it's easy for some to get overlooked. Our email boxes are constantly filled with questions from how to get their old version running, technical support, or penis enlargement pills.

I have noticed that a few posts were requesting similar AOL versions that I am looking for. But the links offered did not get me what I am needing. I have been using AOL 9.0 SE for quite some time until my software went bad, so to speak. After being told by AOL Tech to uninstall everything I was then given the 9.0 VR which I hate. It does not work with Windows XP. For now I am using the 9.0 Optimized which is ok, but I have a lot of saved files on AOL and with this Optimized version I can not categorize my saved files. So my question is whether there is a version of the 9.0 Optimized that allows you to categorize saved files on AOL, and if not, where can I find 9.0 Security Edition? I was happy with my software before I was forced to upgrade to VR. If anyone can help me I would greatly appreciate it.:)

Go ahead and upload all the other versions and I'll be sure to post them whenever I have the chance.

I uploaded AOL 0 Security Edition to the FTP Site a couple of hours ago.
No need to respond.

Does anybody have this version: American Online 8.0 Plus? I can find all my old AOL disks except that one. This one works well with Broadband/Lan and gives you the SPAM Folder in your mailbox which 8.0 regular version does not.

I checked the old versions available here and that PLUS one is missing. Please save me from having to purchase an 8.0 plus disk on ebay.
I should mention this is the USA version of the AOL software.
Thanks.

Are you positive that the AOL 8 Version that is on this site will not do.
I believe that I uploaded it and it should be the latest version. anyway,
if you have any of the AOL 9 Disks, if you OPen them up, they
contain at least two or three earlier versiions of AOL. All AOL Disks
carry earlier versions.

IN Win 2000, Me and XP, select Tools-Folders-Folder Options
View, check “Show hidden files and folders” under “Hidden Files” and click OK.

Then to install a version of AOL, find its folder and double click on the setup
Program incon in that folder. THE CD will contain at least four versions of AOL..

Use an FTP program and FTP into ftp.aol.com. Use anonymous as the username and your AOL email address as the password. You should be able to navigate some of the directories and download older versions of their software.

Just tried it, works.

I use Filezilla for ftp
