Need assistance in upgrading from Windows 98 to 98SE. Initially bought a Gateway in 1999 with a Windows 98 OS. Had some problems with it and had it serviced at a Gateway store that they no longer operate. While in for service they installed Windows 98SE. I wasn't aware of it at the time. My unit recently crashed and I had to reload Windows. It was at this time that I realized my system was operating with MS 98SE. Gateway never provided a CD of the 98SE so I had to load the plain version of MS 98.
I want to back up my files and bought a Sandisk USB memory stick. I found that the Sandisk only runs with MS 98SE and not MS 98 (Plain).
Question; Anyone that can provide direction on how I can obtain a Windows 98SE Disk form Gateway/Microsoft at no cost would be appreciated.
