replacing media player 11

I dont like the windows media player 11.How con i replace it with windows media player 9.I have tried to download the '9' version but it exits before installing.

has the file downloaded ? when you download a file it will not start the installation automatically,i dont use windows media player i personally dont like it one bit,have you checked the windows site for details on media player http://www.microsoft.com/windows/windowsmedia/player/faq/installation.mspx
