hi, I'm running win 98se and my games use to work just fine untill I installed a new direct x.

Which version were you trying to install?

There used to be an uninstaller for DirectX but I haven't seen it for a number of years. Do a web search. ;)

DirectX Uninstaller 0.13 (http://fileforum.betanews.com/detail/DirectX_Uninstaller/978209241/1)

DirectX 9 Uninstaller (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=2935)

DirectX Eradicator 2.0 (http://www.majorgeeks.com/download.php?det=509)

DirectX Buster (http://www.dxbuster.de/index_e.html)

That happens. That's usually due to an a overlook on the part of the game developers.

Could very well be, if the card is older and will not work with later versions of the software.
