Broadband over POWER LINES has been approved by the dorks in DC...........

The result is a complete wipeout of all frequencies BELOW 50 MHZ with nothing but NOISE....

To listen to the effects of this in an area where BPL is already active,CLICK HERE (http://vhfgroup.rochesterny.org/downloads/PYBPL_trim.mp3)

BROADBAND USERS CLICK HERE FOR A LONGER MORE DETAILED CLIP (15 MEGS / 11 mins long) (http://vhfgroup.rochesterny.org/downloads/PYBPL_3_27_04.mp3)

To see video of more of the same crap,CLICK HERE (http://216.167.96.120/BPL_Trial-small.mpg)

Terrible.

I too am a Ham since 1995. Although I am licensed as a tech, I sometimes listen to HF and shortwave.

I don't think anybody needs broadband enough to risk loosing one of the nations most valuble tools during chaos. HF operators were the only ones who could get through during earthquakes and natural disasters.

Just a damned shame. But that goes to show where the heads of the FCC are firmly planted. In the pockets of Big Business. Both Powell's must go, the one at the whitehouse (along with the rest of that staff) and the one [appointed] to run the FCC.

http://www.viddiradioplayer.com not only hosts a nice looking and well playing..um..player, it also lists hundreds of links to direct radio streams from all over the world. You will need WMP and/or Real Player though.

Now go check out Radio Eger 101.3MHZ and pick up some Hungarian... :)

Sonic player was awesome back in the day, Spinner was good for few years.

Alot of radio stations can be found right on windows media site too.

Keep in mind alot of stations change there link or bandwidth limit so changes are daily to some.
