i was wondering who do i completely delete a program.

it is always best to use the add remove programs and uninstall programs, unfortunately many programs when uninstalled do leave empty folders etc behind which you can manually remove yourself or use a disc cleanup program that removes such items, there are many choices available, personally i use winoptimiser suite from www.ashampoo.com which pretty much covers everything and is not too expensive to buy.

Also hidden files and registry entries may be left behind, they may not be so easy to remove
depending on your operating system you might be able to restore your system back to a time before
you installed the program.

I am guessing you are enquiring because of your itunes problems, if you are you should stick to the one thread you created, here are a couple of possible removal paths for itunes

In some rare instances, it may be required to remove all traces of iTunes and QuickTime from your computer. Use the following steps to remove all traces of iTunes, QuickTime, and associated software installed by the iTunes + QuickTime Installer. (http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=305409) of course when apple talks of all traces you just know they like fishing!

Also try this developer who is working to do the job for you and as a bonus he has a catchy slogan just like oldversion.com, let us hope he is just as successful and stays free.

Other users have said the tool also works on later versions than reported on the developers site but as with all cleanup tools they should be used with caution.

I use jv16 PowerTools which does a good job searching the registry and if it don't pick up some I usually do it myself by searching in the registry

Common areas to search if your under windows 2000 pro is HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE

HKEY_USERS\.DEFAULT\Software

Look for names of the program or company name that you just uninstalled.

Another good tool is easy clearner which is also free like JV is
