Welcome to the site :)

I think that started with the 5 series...

Version 5.2.3277 was VERY GOOD and i recommend it (Basic version)

I have 2 favourites

1) 5.2.3277 - Basic clean version

2) 5.5.3598ca - Basic NEWER clean version (CANADIAN VERSION)

In my opinion AIM GOES TO HELL AFTER 3598ca!! (Over bloated garbage)

when i try to run it, it shows a box saying if i would want to put it as my default chat service and then freezes

all versions you told me to download do this

What OS are you n bud??

The Dude: Where can I find the 5.5.3598ca version now? The Canadian AOL site has replaced it with Triton :(

It doesnt install them,THIER FOLDERS ARE THERE BUT THEY ARE NOT INSTALLED!!
Forget that version my friend,i have since found a BETTER VERSION!!
Aim 5.5.3598ca (CANADIAN VERSION)
No games,no crap,etc.......(No viewpoint.exe,no wild tangent) JUST AIM!!!!

Sorry about the confusion.....5.5.3590 was my favorite UNTIL I FOUND 3598ca (It goes to hell after 3598!!)

I have not trialed if there is a difference betwen the Canadian version & what O.V.com is serving however I have freshend up The Dude link with a direct link in the quote above.

I know there is a version taht works with deadaim+aim and you can send messages while away. However, its been so long that i have forgotten the version number. So, any help would be nice; thanks.

Yeah, of all the AIM features it's the one I like the most, but I'm not sure if you can use it with any available old versions.
