Is there a way backup/restore my existing server definitions (profiles), (where to connect, which directorys etc)?

just copy your ws_ftp.ini file to retain older settings.
but here is one for you ...

i have been using ws_ftp on a new machine for a year almost when i tried to copy the stuff onto a flash drive to use somewhere else. well it ran fine but didn't have recent sites created. and when i looked at the .ini it showed a write date almost a year old.

so i went back to the computer and sure enough the .ini is not being written to ... yet new sites appear when i run the program. so i deleted the .ini file and still my sites appear - yet the .ini file is nowhere to be found!!

ok, odd enough but listen here .... i have a program that extracts passwords from the .ini (the ini is encrypted so if you forget a password and need it you need this program) ... well you have to tell it that location of the .ini to use to extract th passwords ... it finds an .ini in the original folder where i deleted it from !!!
