Does anyone have a really old version of Cakewalk Express or Cakewalk Apprentice? I really liked the simplicity of writing MIDI files using Cakewalk on Windows 3.1 and I want to relive it using a 'Windows 3.1 emulator' on my mac.

I found an old copy of Cakewalk 2.0.1 on a floppy and it still works! I could e-mail the files to anyone needing an old PC Windows 3.1 are sequencing program. This is MIDI only (Cakewalk Pro-Audio 5 was the first with audio recording although you could trigger wav files with version 4 i think).

Contact me if you need it.

I have been using cakewalk 2.01 for nearly 20 years. I use it for arranging stage music and rehearsing etc. It is perfect for me.... no bells or whistles. BUT it will not run on windows 7 (64) .... has anyone any suggestions please

you can try to run Windows virtual PC it is for free
Windows Virtual PC: Home Page (http://www.microsoft.com/Windows/virtual-pc/default.aspx)
that will run Xpmode

other possibility is Wmware and run any of the older windows operating system
Wmware is also for free
