I do not see a trial of the requested software available on the website. Is/was there a shareware version of this app or this only a retail app.

Since a similar request for this title was already asked for on the board, turbotax99 (http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?act=ST&f=3&t=669&hl=turbotax), and there was no reply, I will guess there may not be a trial version available?
Also please note you could have searched for a similar thread and posted it in the already existing thread (the one above for example), by keeping like titles togther, regardless of versions or builds, it will help keep the board easier to search.

A possible explanation as to why there may not be a trial version, can be read here http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2003-03-...-turbotax_x.htm (http://www.usatoday.com/tech/news/2003-03-14-turbotax_x.htm)

Also note the write up about the 2003 version, TurboTax installer destroys non-Windows partitions (http://www.geek.com/news/geeknews/2003Feb/gee20030214018676.htm) The technology is called "SafeCast," and it's designed to prevent users from making illegal copies of the TurboTax software. But the method it uses to accomplish these goals is pretty drastic. It includes writing to a partition area of the hard disk that is typically unused by Windows, but which could hold all sorts of valuable data if you use a different operating system or are set up for dual booting. Users have reported losing entire hard drives due to this "feature." What's worse, the DRM software stays put on your machine even if you uninstall TurboTax.

You can purchase a copy of TuboTax 2001 Deluxe here, http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detai...ance&s=software (http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg/detail/-/B00005R81Y/ref=ase_avsearch-swareasin-20/103-1651411-7059824?v=glance&s=software) for $65

I believe Intuit distributed free CDs with the trial version on it. If anyone has one of these CDs kicking around, please upload it.

Oldversion.com most likely will be be hosting excessively large files, such as a full CD worth (500+megs). Maybe you should check out a local computer show in your area, they are always full of cheap software titles. I can bet there are CD's for tax software.

Hi, I am looking for TurboTax Federal and State, but older versions only. Year 2000 and earlier. In some cases the Federal tax software allowed you to download 1 free State, that would be cool then. Years 2000, 1999, maybe even 1998???

any help would be appreciated!

thanks
