SPF was the IBM mainframe "WORD". It was used by programmers as naturally as a first language. SPF/PC was of course a PC version.

It allowed you to modify documents, on the fly, much faster, easier and more completely than todays Word Perfect, MS Word and email text editors.

if it is a full screen text editor. try VI or any of the other modified version. there might even be a EMACS DOS version.

Kids! :rolleyes: They think whatever the latest whiz bang *nix editor around has to be better than anything that was built on big iron. ISPF was (and is) one of the best IDE environments around - period. The only editor I ever found that was better was XEDIT under CMS.

I would not call Vi, the "latest" *nix editor. Considering that it was written in 1976.
