I am currently using WS_FTP LE (Limited Edition).

Seems to do everything I need!

Q: Is there any reason I should upgrade and use the paid version?

Q: Does the paid version do anything the Free Edition does not?

Q: Is there a better version I should be using rather than WS_FTP LE?

I don't think you need the paid version unless you need it for commercial or non-personal uses. Does that describe your situation?
