Hello, Colleagues All,
About 5 years ago, I bought a second-hand computer with a DVD player powered (I think) by PowerDVD. Recently, I had to do a reorganisation, reformatting the C: drive and reinstalling software. I thought I had saved everything but found that the DVD software had disappeared. I use my DVD player mainly for watching movies and concerts while I work, so on my machine, Windows Media Player wouldn't cut it for want of the necessary codecs. I tried a couple of download programs, but they were focussed entirely on playing downloaded DVD formats. I have no idea what codecs are required for playing commercial DVDs and would obviously prefer to get some software that would work seamlessly with downloads and DVD discs. Free would be preferred, but a moderate cost could be tolerated. Any recommendations from you experts out there ?
Incidentally, I was directed to this site by Cyberlink, the PowerDVD people.
Jim.
