hi
new to the forum; went thru the listing of programs you maintain; saw i had a version of Opera not listed.
emailed it.
just received:

email subject line: Warning: E-mail viruses detected

Our virus detector has just been triggered by a message you sent:-
To: email@oldversion.com
Subject: opera v3-6-1 e32
Date: Sun Jun 29 20:54:16 2003

One or more of the attachments (opera v3-6-1 o361e32.exe) are on
the list of unacceptable attachments for this site and will not have
been delivered.

Consider renaming the files or putting them into a "zip" file to avoid
this constraint.

The virus detector said this about the message:
Report: Executable DOS/Windows programs are dangerous in email (opera v3-6-1 o361e32.exe)

so i checked the .exe file with AVG, Norton Anti-Virus, and The Cleaner and it came up with *no* virus.
and then i figured out the attachment didn't have a virus, it's your system rejecting attachments which are in .exe format.

if you want people to contribute to your site note the following:
1) amend your subject line. the attachment was *not* a virus, it was the program itself in .exe format.
2) if you require attachments to always be in .zip format, then i suggest you make this plainly clear
3) amend your subject line. you piss off people when you tell them they're sending viruses when in fact they aren't.

Thank you for letting us know, I am fully aware of the virus/spam scanner recently installed. It will be configured properly to make sure that this does not happen. I will let you know when it all works.

Thanks.
