directx 10 is supplied with windows vista but it is unavailable for other versions of windows. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DirectX

Oh ok.
So unless they port it back to Windows XP, which seems unlikely, this version will never be downloadable.
While a possible version 11 (in the future) should be.

Offering DirectX 10 only to VISTA is a carrot. Or maybe a little arm twisting as well.
Considering that DirectX will likely place larger demands on the GPU, which in turn will require newer hardware, which will likely require VISTA. I wouldn't count on a later version of DirectX, such as 11, being any less demanding.

I didn't say that a version 11 wouldn't be for Vista too ^^
Only that version 10 would probably not be downloadable, but 11 would be, should it ever be made.

Default Current versions not right

Hello,

There are a few programs on the site where the current version is not right (winzip, Acrobat Reader).

can you check regulary if there are new versions online.

winzip never was a problem program all versions are well. Just as years go by the program file gets larger.

i didnt notice anyone saying anything about winzip being a problem,there was a mention about the current version number but thats all,unless you can see posts that we cannot.

I think we are all seeing the same posts, just from different perspectives.
Try reading them backwards for some really sic undertones.

Morpheus I'm sure Admin would be grateful if you checkout what the latest versions are and regularly posted updates however this has been covered many times & I dont think anyone is too bothered as it is fairly cosmetic and after all this is oldversion.com.
