I retryed the quicktime 4.1.2 video and it played good. No slight freezes, and no sound scratches. I didn't need to enable virtual memory for the D:\.

no, you dont have to manage Virtual Memory for Windows to operate, it will manage the VM on its own, but it will improve performance by dedicating a permanent swap file, with consistant Min & Max sizes. it will keep Windows from constantly having to resize the swap file, and will also cut down on fragmentation of the c: drive. as the more fragmented your dive gets, the longer it will take to locate data on such an older HD/System.

I found this version of quicktime from an old windows game cd but I don't know which version it is. The date says January 11, 1994. Even I don't know where I need to install these because its not an extractable file.

The only exe file is QTNOTIFY.EXE. I don't know if that is the installer or if it does nothing.

I have:

QuickTime v2.0 (32-bit)
QuickTime v3.0
QuickTime v4.0
QuickTime v5.0
QuickTime v6.0

Versions 4.0, 5.0 and 6.0 each have 2 files. The exe installer (QuickTimeInstaller.exe) and a cache file (QuickTimeInstallCache.qdat). The exe will be a few hundred KB while the cache file will be anywhere between 7 and 10 MB.

Version 2.0 (QTEASY32.exe) is 2.5 MB.

Version 3.0 (QuickTime30.exe) is 6.86 MB. Includes readme.txt

You'll need WinZip to extract the files. The file is 31.7 MB.

Please reply to this topic once you have downloaded it. I will only host this file for a few days (max).

The problem is, I can't download the file because the file is too big for a 56k modem. I suggest you keep it for more time.

Thanks for the downloads, the version 4.0 works, and the 2.11.51 Beta 2 also works!!! But pretty much the old cpu can only go up to 4.1.2. 5.0 justs slows down.
