you need to purchase a copy of Windows98, if you do not own a copy of it.
you can check out ebay for prices, I am sure it will be reasonible.
else, if you don't have the money, then you can opt for one of the hundreds of FREE Operating System's available online.
    FreeDOS http://freedos.org
    Netbsd http://netbsd.org
    OpenBSD http://openbsd.org
    FreeBSD http://Freebsd.org
    DragonFly http://www.dragonflybsd.org/Main/
    QNX http://www.qnx.com/
    OpenDarwin http://www.opendarwin.org/
    Apple Darwin http://developer.apple.com/darwin/
or if you want, you can try out a GNU/Linux distro, too many to list here.

Sometimes you can get around inserting the CD by clicking ok and it will give a message that it cannot find a file. Usually that file is l0ocated somewhere on the Hard drive. You just have to do a search and find the file location and point windows to it...hence no need for the CD. Hope that helps. I also usually copy the win 9x directory (from the CD) to the hard drive so when it asks for the CD you just point it to that directory

Right, alot of OEM's will ship the system with the CAB files in a certain folder, such as the C:\Windows\Options\Cabs, but if they do that, then the OS will usually not ask for the CD. But you can try pointing the installation request to the C:\Windows\System incase the drivers were previously installed there

    Try this:

When it tells you to insert the disk press OK
When a new window pops up point it to C:Windows\System
and press OK. If it doesn't find the file there try C:\Windows
The reason it asks you for the disk is because it's trying to look for drivers (DLLFILES).
If it can't find the files write down every file it asks you for then go to these websites and download them.

    www.dictacomm.com/Win_Dll/98_2nd_
    dll.yaroslavl.ru/index.php3?lng=&in_char=T

Make sure you unzip and install them in
C:\Windows\System so that next time you install something you know where to look.[COLOR=blue]

Dont forget half of the files are in C:\Windows\System32 as well. Once you copy the cabs from the cd to your hard drive you can easily change the registry entry so you will never have to choose the location again. If you want I can tell you how.
