how do I stop the old version of msn messenger from starting up and logging me on?

un~install all versions..................then re~install the latest

if you open msn you can click on tools on the top toolbar and then click the general tab you should then find the options,and uncheck the one that says start up automatically when you log on to windows and also uncheck the that allows automatic sign in when connected to the internet.

rename msmsgs.exe (c:\program files\Messenger\) to a new file.. say oldmsmsgs.exe
you tricked windows that there will be no MSN messneger...
