I don't wanna sound dumb but I just wanna be sure that it's definitely safe to download zakaa lite from you guys. Nobody would have been able to go in and connect a virus to it or anything, right?

Download a free virus scanner and scan the downloads you get to be certain your safe. Don't rely on someone else to inform you that the downloads are virus free, check yourself. I am sure OV makes every possible attempt that the main sites downloads are virus free, but they have no control over what files are downloaded on external links; such as those which are usually found in the forum.

im am almost super positive your download will be virus free, after you download it install it and then the fun begins, first update your virus scanner regularly (everyday) is not too often cuz nowadays the files on the p2p networks are nearly 1 in 4 virus carrying, then decide what you are wanting to download, if its copyright material then before you download it take these steps to protect you from the riaa which are all over the kazaa network like a rash, get yourself 500 bricks and some mortar mix from the building contractor and brick up your doors from the inside then when your inside and they try try to breakdown your door for breaking the law you,ll be safe, until you need more blank cds and have to go out, what im trying to say is if you wanna use this app, dont get on the wrong side of the law it carries a high penalty

But I was told that it's not illegal unless you share files, and that a new court mandate was made saying that kazaa isn't required to give out the names of their users.

After you download the file to where ever it is you keep the files, point the virus scanner at the file, and check it.
Or does the virus scanner, scan files while they are downloading?
