[B][SIZE=7] BIG NEED FOR COLLEGE STUDENTS AROUND THE US....

Microsoft Office Xp 2000 like all MicroSoft programs is copyrighted and cannot be freely passed around. If you need a copy of this program I suggest you buy it. The program should be able to be purchased cheaply at www.ebay.com or by checking your local computer flea markets.

Since college students don't have extra money to pay for MS Office, I do not see them affording any court costs & fines for illegally using pirated copies of Office either, so they need something that is free.
You don't have to rely on stealing MS products to accomplish your tasks, with alittle searching on the net you usually always can find a replacement app which is equal, and many times even better than what is advertised. Don't fall into the "its' got to be Microsoft Office" - to do a simple word document.
    • OpenOffice.org (Freeware)
OpenOffice.org is both an Open Source product and a project. The product is a multi-platform office productivity suite. It includes the key desktop applications, such as a word processor, spreadsheet, presentation manager, and drawing program, with a user interface and feature set similar to other office suites. Sophisticated and flexible, OpenOffice.org also works transparently with a variety of file formats, including those of Microsoft Office.
    • EasyOffice (Freeware)
Complete Office Suite. Has many programs and features not found in Microsoft Office,.... create PDF documents and spreadsheets, powerful EasyCalculator, full ZIP program, EasyMail with artificial intelligence, many, many more... reads and produces files with Microsoft Office and other industry standards.
    • AbiWord (Freeware)
word processing program similar to Microsoft® Word. It is suitable for typing papers, letters, reports, memos, and so forth.
    • EasyOffice (Freeware)
      Competes directly with Microsoft Office.
    • 602PC SUITE (Freeware)
Uses the MS Word .DOC format, 602Tab is an MS Excel compatible spreadsheet with over 150 functions, 602Album creates and manages virtual digital photo albums.
    • StarOffice (No-Cost Licensing for Education & Research)
StarOffice 7 Office Suite are not only fully integrated, they are also compatible with Microsoft Office, so you can easily access, edit, and share documents. And because StarOffice is from Sun Microsystems, you can count on world-class service and free Web-based training. StarOffice software also gives you all the advantages of Sun's commitment to open standards. That means you'll not be locked into costly upgrades or computing platform and you'll get a full function productivity suite with no-cost licensing, backed by Sun service and support. Many educational institutions around the world are already enjoying the benefits of StarOffice.
    • KOffice suite (Freeware)
KOffice is an integrated office suite for the KDE (K Desktop Environment) consisting of several applications like a word processor and a spread sheet. Based on the KParts component model KOffice offers a lot of interoperability between all its components. For example, you can embed every KOffice component into another component (for example a KSpread table into your KWord document.)

But, if you feel that Free Products are not as good as paid-for apps, then here are a couple Retail Office apps which are much cheaper than MS Office
    • ThinkFree Office (Shareware) $49.95

For those who need to be able to read without editing possibilities there are free viewers from Microsoft.com for Word, Excel & Power Point avail from the MS Downloads site. (Just enter a search for MS Word Viewer)

    http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details...&displaylang=EN

Also Corel Office 2000 and higher can create documents in the MS Word format for a lot less than MS Office.

If you are looking for illegal/pirated/warez downloads, this is NOT the place.

If you are looking for a viewer, I have a list with links to where you can get them (see below).

    Microsoft Office viewers:
Word Viewer 2003 (also opens Corel WordPerfect and Microsoft Works Word Processor files&#33
    Word 2003: XML Viewer
    Excel Viewer 2003

    Snapshot Viewer for Access 2003, 2002, 2000, and 97
    Windows Journal Viewer 1.5

    Microsoft Office viewers (old):
*** I would recommend that you only install these if you are running an older version of Windows (i.e. Windows 98 SE or Windows ME) ***
Word 97-2000 Viewer (alternative download link 1 - alternative download link 2)
Excel 97-2000 Viewer (direct download link - requires Windows 95 or higher)
PowerPoint Viewer 97 (alternative download link 1 - alternative download link 2)
    Visio 2002 Viewer

And the only Microsoft Office related viewer that Microsoft makes for the Macintosh:
PowerPoint 98 Viewer for Macintosh (alternative download link 1 - alternative download link 2)

    Misc. Microsoft viewers:
