also try the search feature, there was a recent thread that covered this same question, countless times the moderator has to point this out to people and it must get kinda boring after a few hundred times.

Right, you dont have to buy it if you don't plan to use it.
DeadAIM 4.5 is a retail product. before you can download it, you have to pay.
Any other forms of obtaining this app would be illegal.
Check the DeadAIM website if you are unclear.

The point is, someone who did pay for an old version of the app, who has a valid license, may have lost their installation package, and needs that old copy again. They can come here and get that old copy and use it once more.
Second point is that not all new versions work for everyones system, some people are not running Windows XP or whatever the latest release of windows is at the time.
Some people still use win95, these old versions might be what they need.
This is not a site for finding 'new' software titles. But for locating files someone either had once used, or preferred over the latest.

You can not get it for free. This site holds freeware and shareware titles, the version your mentioning is shareware.
If the app is something that does what you need, support future development of the software and pay for it. If you do not wish to pay for the app, you do not have to, just stop using it.
