    If I go to

    Files or Folders

    and key in the following:


    I am told I have about 2500 files in my C drive, if I delete them all== is this safe to do, or are some of them linked to programs I have installed on my pc, thankyou for any advice re this matter?

    *.tmp files can be safely deleted. as far as *.chk files go have a look at this link before you delete them, http://www.malektips.com/gen0017.html always a good option is to type in file associations you are unsure of into google and you will instantly be able to find what they are for

    *.* is a wildcard for ALL FILES, do not use that to delete files, else all your files will be deleted!
    It is safe to delete
    *.tmp, *.bak, *.000, *.001,
    and sometimes you can safely delete *.log, though some programs will not uninstall if you do this.
