    Default MSN Microsoft Messenger

I've been having problems with MSN Messenger for a few days now. It was working fine, then I was informed that there was a new version available. So.. I downloaded it. Now I can't even sign in. I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling...reinstalling earlier versions...tried Trillian...I hate ICQ...run a virus scan..tried to contact MSN/Microsoft...etc..etc.. I downloaded version 4.6.. that's the one that gave me all the problems... it keeps coming up with the error message that usually comes up when MSN is down for maintenance yet everyone I talk to says theirs is working fine.

    Help me!!

I have no idea what to do now! I'm outta options..and completely desperate! I even tried to download an MSN fix but it wouldn't install...

Thank You for any help You can give me..

Try getting a new passport, or screw around with your current passport settings.
If all else fails, b***h at microsoft some more.

    Or just download Trillian instead.

You could go to OldVersion (top of page) and download messenger ver 4.5 I did and it restored my messenger. Ver 4.6 is designed for win98 and up but...?????

I don't know, but you might have downloaded the wrong version... like for the wrong OS.

I currently have 5.0 and I have been trying to install an older version of msn messenger but none of them will allow me to install because I have a newer version... I can't find any way to uninstall 5.0.

** my roomate has both 4.7 and 5.0 running on her comp and ideally that is what I would like to have as well.

    any help is greatly appreciated
