I had the adaware v.6.181 free for personal use on my computer, but, don't know any link to post for you.

    Instead I'll upload it through:

    www.yousendit.com

Link good for 7 days or 25 downloads, whichever comes first. So grab it fast!

    Just a word of caution.

AdAware has changed to the "SE" series....Versions 5.x, 6.x & etc are no longer being supported by Lavasoft.

If you wish to continue to recieve updated definitions of new adware, you should download the current version.

As far as I know "AdAware SE Personal Build 1.05" is the current free offering.

    Before purchasing a title, check out the many freeware spyware removers in this thread;
    http://www.oldversion.com/talk/index.php?a...t=ST&f=2&t=1405
As far as which is the best,... Try a few of the shareware titles then decide.

One of the moderators at FreedomList assembled a list of free security tools:

BTW: Beware of spyware disguised as a spyware killer. Some will give you a false positive to entice you to buy the software. Never buy a security tool if you first heard of it in a pop-up or spam.

this comes up so often on many forums, a personal preference of mine is spybot search and destroy which is in the list of spyware removers that LOCUSTFURNACE compiled i run this on all my systems along with adaware both of which are free programs. i settled on these pair after trying many different ones and these giving the best results over many others

I have and run Ad Aware the Professional SE Version with Ad Watch, Spybot, SpywareBlaster and Pest Patrol, but I am not fully anamoured
with the most recent version of Pest Patrol since being taken over by
Computer Associates. The first three you can acquire as freeware, but
after a couple of years I bought the Profression Version so I could help support the effort as well as making donations to the Spybot group.

Ad-aware Standard Edition is THE award winning, free*, multicomponent detection and removal utility that has consistently lead the industry in safety, user satisfaction, support and reliability.

Thanks for the help, my pc is running a lot smoother now and without all the pop-ups. I think they should be stopped for good, if i want to gamble, have my breasts enlarged or watch porn then i will go to those sites if and when i want to not because of a pop-up. I guess thats just my opinion but they are anoying.

    Thanks again

I find Panicware's Pop-up Blocker v2.6 set to aggressive mode very affective at blocking pop-ups. I might be lucky if 1 in 1000 makes it through. As the link on here seems to be dead to the v2.6 I've uploaded for you through you.sendit.com.

    http://s6.yousendit.com/d.aspx?id=C5C46889...8E95A49A63A8736

Link will last for 7 days or 25 downloads, whichever comes first

Instructions for using this pop-up stop

After installing PopUpStopper26.exe you'll see a white box
with a red X in it and a blue line on top beside your clock.

Right click on this icon and left click preferences.

Click on Enable aggressive pop-up control.

If you want noise when a pop-up is blocked click:
Play a sound when pop-up is blocked, pick your sound and click open.

    Now click Close.

With this set in this way pop-ups will be blocked.
If a window doesn't open that you would like open
hold down the CTRL key and click the link again.

Current version is SE personal, but oldversion.com is not updated. I need 6.0 to reverse some changes previously made on the system. Thanks
