    Hi,
I am having problems listening to BBC Radio 4 over the internet - it uses Real Player and it often crashes or stops with a "General Error" report.
I can, however, listen to BBC World Service no problem - BUT that uses Windows Media Player.
Does anyone know why this should be?
Is there anyway to hear Radio 4 using Media Player??
Radio 4 streams at 8Kbps whereas World Service is at 16Kbps so it can't be an internet "speed" problem, can it???
any help/advice would be greatly appreciated
    Nigel

BBC One uses RealAudio streams.Which is handled by Real Player.
BBC World might use asf/x streams. Which is handled by WMP.

If, you want to try to see if WMP can handle the Real Streams, then try installing the Real Audio alternatives. This is a codec package, which should allow you to use WMP to handle the RealAudio.
