Default AIM from thi site comes with spyware

I downloaded the AOL Instant Messenger 5.5.3598 from this site and installed on my computer, after scanning with webroot spysweeper I found out that a commercial keystorke logger spybuddy is installed. I can not even remove it from my computer.

Dude, how can you doing this! You will be complained or sued!

This is an extremely serious issue. We scan all our software for anything like that. I'm going to remove this title temporarily, and investigate further. We will help you remove everything, but I'm hoping it was just a false report on your virus software.

Thank you for letting us know about this, we're going to investigate it.

I have checked the file and it doesn't contain any spyware (also scanned with Webroot Spy Sweeper). It either detected a false positive, or that version of AIM is susiptible to an exploit. Please make sure you're using the latest version of Webroot Spy Sweeper.

Default How did you scan it?

Thank you for the quick resonse first!

We may use different ways to scan the spyware.

My process is to install the aim first, then use the webroot spysweeper to scan the computer, then the spybuddy was found.

If you simply just use the norton anti-virus or spysweeper to scan the aim installation execuatable, you will find the nothing. Please do install the aim first, then scan your computer, you will find it.

my spysweeper version is the lastest: I check the update every day. 4.5.8 (build 683)

    v595.

I made sure that Charles installed the file first, so I do believe that this has to be a false positive.

All the versions of aim 5.0+ have some crap with them. Go AIM 4.8 or lower!
