When I downloaded Trillian, I couldn't sort out how to browse my Buddies' files as I do and DO (i since uninstalled Trillian) on AIM. Now that I have downloaded ICQ Lite, I'm wondering if I should consolidate and re-install Trillian, while uninstalling AIM and ICQ Lite. But I use the Get File feature religiously and I don't want to miss out on it with Trillian. Any help would be much appreciated.

    maybe you can use "EasyMessage"
    http://www.easymessage.net/

Easy message is a unified instant messenger that provides support for ICQ, MSN, Yahoo, and AOL all at the same time. file transfer
Send and receive files with contacts over all accounts

Trillian supports all those messengers as well. As for the Get File feature, it doesn't support that yet. I actually don't remember that feature in AIM. Maybe I just have never used it, but do you know how long that feature has been in AIM?

the easy message does support getting files.
as far as how long did AIM have this feature. I can not be sure, but I last used AIM about 4/5 years ago, and i had been using the get file feature at that time. so it has been there atleast that long

    Default Trillian/EasyMessage

Neither Trillian or Easy Message support the Get File... option.

He is referring to the file sharing that you can setup and then have another client click Get File... to browse the shared folder on the "server" client. You can however recieve files sent to you by another AIM user via Trillain/EasyMessage. AIM is the only way to go if you want to use the Get File feature.
