Internet Explorer v5.5 is a piece of junk, just download MoZilla.

Too bad you cannot uninstall Internet Explorere without removing the whole windows OS.

    You can remove IE completely.

    98 Lite

It is a small program for free that removes IE 4,5,and I used it with same results on 6.

While at that site you can also read up on
lite 98, I am now using it in all its glory after working out the bugs. It truely is lite and fast. They also have start up and shut down screens that go with the new operating system. I have found that IEradicator works with ME and 2000, I have never tried it with XP.
You can also go to cnet and download this small program.

It leaves only explorer 3.0 on your machine.

I need to download IE 5.5 for my computer because I'm having problems with IE 5.00. IE 6.0 isn't compatible with my OS (Windows 95). So IE 5.5 is the highest upgrade for Internet Explorer I can get. Can I legally request this download? Microsoft kind of left me hanging here. Please let me know if it is illegal. I have no idea since IE has always been a free download.

Yes, it is legal to download Internet Explorer. IE is a free application, but version 5.5 and lower are hard to come by now, but if you go to this site:

    http://browsers.evolt.org/

you can download just about any version of just about every web browser ever created.

um... WHY would u wanna suffer through a L-O-N-G download when you can just install it from one of those free MSN, AOL, EARTHLINK trial CDs? Just explore them and goto the IE folder and clik msie55 setup.exe

    so simple. later

I think this is the best version, is there any chance of getting it on there?
Also, I have IE 4.0 on a standalone CD, I use it when installing Windows NT to get the Active Desktop.
