    Default Uninstall issues

Have you ever installed a program and then when you uninstall, it keeps the files behind. Or does not do the uninstallation at all? What causes this and what can be done to make sure your computer is clean nof the files?

Usually thats a result of a couple things.
Some left-behind files belong to the program. Which is an issue with the programmer.
Some left-behind items are files created by your useage of the program.
Some get left behind due to an upgrade.

Many files information is also left behind in a file called index.dat.

There are many program which exist to remove these stragglers

Yeah, happens sometimes. I even saw programs that says it uninstall but leave _all_ files ... such as Dofus (maybe not with the very latest versions, I didn't test these...).

What you can do is remove the files and associated registry keys ( be careful there ! Don't touch if you're not sure of what you do ^^ ) by yourself.
