OpenOffice.org 2.2 is fragile

Under OpenOffice.org 2.2 Writer, there seem to be an UNBELIEVABLE number of things to change by accident. Only tonight my formatting toolbar "ran off and hid," and I darn near couldn't reset it. Even now, it is showing this weird, non-standard button at the left end of the toolbar. What in the world is that doing there? And, if there is a "master reset" button or "return things to the status quo ante," *I* sure can't find it. Uninstall/reinstall didn't seem to help when I tried it the other day.

If you are going to USE a computer program, you can't be constantly learning and relearning where things are. A program has to be STABLE and can't be constantly changing out from under you.

Does anybody have a copy of version 2.1? Or earlier than that?
