    Default Ugh!

    "for the time being"????

Does that mean they are coming back or do I need to find another place to get these?

Either way I need to go scrounge up a copy of v5.0 some where else now.

Looks like the downloads are back already.
Maybe they were moved to a new hdd / server ?

Well I just read the first message and went to the said URL, then saw the "quoted" message didn't appear and everything appeared normal, so I assumed that was just a temporary thing...

    Default Acrobat Reader Still Around

Adobe appears to be burying the oldest versions of Acrobat Reader on their websites, but you still can get 6.0.1 simply (they also offer v7.0.9 via the slightly annoying Adobe Download Manager software) at the address below:

    http://www.adobe.com/products/acroba...lversions.html

6.0.1 can be revised to 6.0.2 via the Update feature inside Reader once installed...

The 6.0.1 installer file downloads directly to your hard drive, but to get 7.0.9 you'll first download an “extractor” file, then run that in order to download the full .exe file using the Download Manager...

I believe that 6.0.2 is the most recent version of AR which'll run on Win98...

As for the very old versions, I located an FTP site offering 5.00 & 5.05 (ar500enu.exe & ar505enu.exe for the Windows US English versions, obviously):

    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/5.x/

3.x and 4. x versions are available on that same FTP site, BTW:

    ftp://ftp.adobe.com/pub/adobe/acrobatreader/win/
