I need help with HP Pavilion 2003

I have a HP Pavilion XP 2003 and I need a recovery disc or whatever for this. I was doing a Windows Recovery within teh computer but its been 8 hours running adn its at 25% for 8 hours. The files are moving into the folder, but I was thinking it was stuck. When I turned ont he computer it says windowsroot 32dll/hd/dll needs to be reinstalled. I have no recovery disc and I called HP and they no longer have that for 2003. what do I do? This is such a nice computer do you know what I can do?

Doing a recovery from within the computer ?? i presume you mean a system restore ?? you will find a restore disc maybe on ebay,alternately you could try starting the computer in safe mode and see if it will boot that way allowing you to get to system resore and trying it again.
