I came hee hoping, and was disappointed.. Any chance there could be a category for the AOL internet software?

Most of it still works, each subsequent version gets more bloated, and each subsequent version breaks more things.

    TIA, if it's possible

If you have a CD Rom in your computer, all you need to do is find a current
CD. The latest version is 8.0. If you pick up a CD from someplace that
gives them away, (lots of places to get them)... the CD's have the old
versions of AOL on them. You just have to select the directory for the
version you want to install. Either turn off your autorun on your CD drive,
or (easier) answer NO that you don't want to install AOL when you load
the disc in as it w'ill default to run the setup for the most current version
on the disc. Then just open Windows Explorer, go to your CD Rom drive,
and browse until you find the version you want to install. The 8.0 disc
has software for AOL that goes all the way back to version 3.0.
Basically I think that's the main reason AOL distributes their software on
CD now, a few years ago it used to come on a floppy. Since they include
all the old versions back to 3.0 now they need the extra room a CD offers.
After I typed that I went back on the disc and checked the size of the
files for the install, and actually I stand corrected, partially. You are right
the newer versions have definitely added bloat. Version 3.0 on the CD
is 1.37 MB, while version 8.0 is almost 10 times that size.
    Anyway, hope that helps
