Default Autocad R10 Help. Not able to load a drawing

I know R10 is old and runs on DOS but I am doing some contract work for a company that exclusively uses AutoCAD R10.

If more information is needed please let me know as DOS is not my speciality.

Computer is a PIII - 500mhz running DOS 6.2. AutoCAD R10 runs using an Orchid Technology Prodesign IIs ISA video card. I can start R10 just fine but when I go to load a file it just hangs. I have restored the computer with a known working image, no luck. I have reinstalled Autocad, no luck.

There must be a driver or config problem. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

You say you restored the computer from an image. When the computer starts, does the DOS prompt C:\ come up on the screen, or is the computer running under a version of Windows?

It's running DOS 6.2 and when you boot it goes to the c:\ prompt.
