Can anyone tell me what is the oldest (read smallest) Winzip I can use on a an old Win95-80486 machine from which I need to rescue a 4MB data file. I can only zip the file to floppy so I need a version that can divide the file into several floppys.

Just get the old dos version pkzip.exe version 2.50, only 50,663 bytes! It can be found easily.

It is a command line tool but if you read the help, you will find that it can easily span disks.

Also, you might want to look into a very tiny freeware program called filechopper32 which can break any file into small chunks.
