hmmm..... I only have 2 versions. Thought I had more.

Let me know if you'd like a copy of the above one, or 5.5.6.9

I've encountered a strange problem with Nero, Therese. It has to do with the compilation window. I name files the name of the song. If the name is two words, such as "Hard Times", when I add it to the compilation window it appears as "Hard" under the artist and "Times" under the title. I can edit everything, sure, but it's annoying because previous versions didn't do this.

So, I'm looking for the last version that works properly. And unfortunately it's not the one I asked for. But I have narrowed it down to two. So if you can point me to Versions 5.5.10.7 and 5.5.10.0, I would be very grateful. Thanks!

incase you are wanting to make a encoded music cd such as an aac only cd and you are naming songs such as

    [artist] - [album]- [song title].[extension]

    Estampie - Ondas - O Fortuna.aac

you can get away with a short name in Nero, up to 64 character for Joliet.
if you want longer filenames, up to 128 character, you need to use the Romeo file format, which Nero does not support.

i mostly use the file format Rock Ridge for programs and Romeo for data music (aac) cd's.
UDF file format is supposed to - in some cases support up to 256 character in file name. but i never use it nowadays, i had used it years ago when it was new but i did not warm up to it, i just stick with Romeo and Rock Ridge.

this ofcourse just applies if you are making a music data cd for your collection of aac, mp4, ac3, mpc, ogg, vqf, mp3, mpe, lqts, ra.
and doesn't much matter if making a music only cd (cdda). since it will just use track 01, track02, unless useing CD-TEXT.

if you can not place a space in the filename then you will need to probably switch to a Joliet secondary file descriptor AND/or change the character set to ACSII. that should let you use a space [alt+0160].

Looks like I struck gold with Ver 5.5.10.7b

During all of this I figured out how to make the file name work in the later versions. The file has to be named "Boz Scaggs-Hard Times". Then the artist and title will appear correctly. But this is not the way I need them to be named. For one thing, I have close to 1000 songs recorded from LPs that I really don't want to rename. Plus some other programs I use need just the song title.

Anyway, thank you all very much, especially Therese. I'm amazed you're able to find these old versions. Nero tech support said they couldn't be found anywhere. Typical of most tech support, wouldn't you say?

    Thanks again,

    Danny
