Get cwshredder and Hijack This here. To remove the CoolWebSearch Trojan.
If when shutting down your computer, it stalls and produces and error stating, "Waiting for Win Min to close" and never shutdowns, this will indicate your infected with the trojan.

What you should do is copy the exact error message, paste into google, make sure to quote it such as, "antivirus stalls bla bla bla."
If it has been reported before, then you should find an answer.

Do a control|alt|del to see what is all running. Its possible something is running that should not be. kill the process.
Run the spyware checks on the system, see if it discovers any.
Make sure you update to the latest for each spyware app. Does no good running outdated definitions.
Is the anti-vris app set to scan on shutdown? If so, might not be a problem, just normal operations of the program.
Alot of the times the trojan is 'in use' and can not be deleted. So you would not be able to clear it. You can track it down and delete in via DOS. But only if you can use DOS.
Try to quarantine the trojan. If possible.
