I heard that AOL v9 is coming out with its very own built-in firewall. They released a beta of AOL9 if anyone feels like giving an opinion about it.

I would download it but...I hate AOL.

SpywareBlaster 3.3

Author: Javacool Software
Date: 2005-03-10
Size: 2.4 Mb
License: Freeware
Requires: Win All

http://www.majorgeeks.com/download2859.html

Editors Note: If you receive an error that files are missing when starting SpywareBlaster, please download the Microsoft Visual Basic Run Time files. These files are required for any program that was coded in Visual Basic and are often not included to make the download small. If you have never downloaded a program that needed these files, you may not have them installed. Its a small, safe download and something you may need again later.

SpywareBlaster doesn't scan and clean for spyware - it prevents it from ever being installed.

Spyware, adware, browser hijackers, and dialers are some of the fastest-growing threats on the Internet today. By simply browsing to a web page, you could find your computer to be the brand-new host of one of these unwanted fiends!

The most important step you can take is to secure your system and SpywareBlaster is the most powerful protection program available.

It's main features include:
- Prevent the installation of ActiveX-based spyware, adware, browser hijackers, dialers, and other potentially unwanted pests.
- Block spyware/tracking cookies in Internet Explorer and Mozilla/Firefox.
- Restrict the actions of potentially dangerous sites in Internet Explorer.

SpywareBlaster can help keep your system spyware-free and secure, without interfering with the "good side" of the web. And unlike other programs, SpywareBlaster does not have to remain running in the background.

SpywareBlaster is freeware for personal and educational use.

The version adds Firefox 0.9 support and fixes several bugs.

It's not a fad, running cwshredder.
Cwshredder is used to remove Coolwebssearch. Which actually inhibits spyware removers from being able to run. Coolwebssearch, closes several anti-spyware apps when you try to open them. Also, 'hijack this' stops from another annoyance, that of web browser hijacking, also, not covered in your standard spyware removers.

Now, before you can begin to scan for spyware, which may be disabled, you need to remove the locks on your spyware removers. This is how spyware creators have begun to cripple the effectiveness of spyware removers.
