    From what i have read of it, It is a leaked release of AOL for use in devices such as wireless pads and kitchen-counter computers. Being a leaked version and not Offically Release from AOL. Since the software was probably obtained in an unauthorized mode, such as a break-in, it would and could be illegal to host, possess, that depends on AOL's postion on the leaked software.

    And as far as I can tell it is not useful in its present form, its just source code. So it not something you would be able to compile and run. Most likey it is good for Embedded markets only, and Disk on chips devices.

    Were you wanting the AOL Server?

    While I highly recommend to not use AOL as your dial-up service [especially on linux];
    This page - http://justlinux.com/forum/showthread.php?...9&highlight=aol

    has links to download it and a tutorial of how to do it.

    [mods: I don't feel this is illegal, if you do - then, censor it !]
