Sometimes you need to find a specific file on the web such as abcdef.zip. Google is always a good starting point but I usually have more luck with these FTP search engines.

fileshack.com
You'll need a (free) account to download on fileplanet or fileshack, and there are waiting lines... not on filefront but of course you may find the files you are looking for on one of them and not the others.
Oh and remember, if you know the md5 hash of a file but the original link is dead, you still may try a google search on that criteria.
files you download from the web can be hard to find if you don't know where the default download location is.
